House minority members propose Stop the Sexualization of Chidren Act.
Some members of the House of Representatives proposed new legislation that would prohibit the use of federal funds for sexually explicit programs, such as drag shows and drag queen story hour events that have occurred across the nation.
Louisiana Representative Mike Johnson’s “Stop the Sexualization of Children Act” is an attempt by the House members to prevent taxpayers from funding events they say expose children to sexualized themes and “radical gender theory” programs at young ages.
The legislation states, “State and local library systems, museums, and other educational institutions that receive Federal grants have purchased sexually-oriented literature and materials that target preadolescent children and teach them about concepts like masturbation, pornography, sexual acts, and gender transition.”
“Private organizations, State government agencies, and local government agencies have made use of Federal grants to host and promote sexually oriented events like drag queen story hours and burlesque shows,” it continues.
“HHS and DOD funding should be used to keep our country healthy and safe, not to stage burlesque shows for children,” Representative Johnson’s office said in a description of the bill.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Representative Johnson and his colleagues as they seek to protect children.
- For federal officials to make appropriate use of the funding their departments have been allocated by Congress.
- For the Lord to help those who are trying to shield children.
